What is a CRMA ?

Certified Residential Medication Aide

A C.R.M.A is allowed

 to pass medications in a residential care setting. Examples of care settings include group homes and assisted living facilities.

To become a CRMA you must take a state

certified training program.  The CRMA training programs is based on the curriculum provided by the State of Maine.  The curriculum will be posted in the google classroom.

​

Some agencies provide a 24 hour course. For this course you will pass medications with another CRMA.

​

Other agencies provide a 40 hour course. For this course you will pass medications with a R.N.

CRMA is an abbreviation for Certified Residential Medication Aide.

There are no specific qualification for taking a C.R.M.A. course.

For example you do not need prior healthcare experience.
